Eurozone Pitches In
England: £400 Billion plan, £250 Billion of which allocated for bank loan guarantees. £37 Billion equity investment in three largest banks: 60% stake in Royal Bank of Scotland and more than 40% of the combined Lloyds TSB and HBOS (the country’s largest mortgage lender).
Germany: €400 Billion for bank debt guarantees and €100 Billion financial market stabilization fund to take stakes in banks.
France: €320 for bank loan guarantees and €40 Billion to take stakes in banks.
Spain: €100 Billion to guarantee new debt issued by commercial banks this year and an unspecified further amount next year.
Italy: $27 Billion for banks.
Austria: Preparing to announce €85 Billion plan.
